I absolutely LOVE this book!!!! I never write reviews, but I love this book so much, I feel compelled! I have a HUGE collection of similar books that often are put aside and forgotten after a short period of time and although I find them valuable and occasionally will pull them out, this one is different! I try to check in often, sometimes due to time not reading for several days, sometimes several passages in a day. Every page is so applicable, so helpful! I am on the upside of the traumatic dissolution of my marriage and nearing finalization of my divorce and still mid-custody-battle over my precious 6-year-old daughter! My once-best-friend spouse underwent a dramatic personality change, becoming highly manipulative, emotionally abusive, lying compusively, and having numerous affairs. Our peaceful, easy-going relationship became highly charged, and as his emotional abuse and crazy-making increased, I was like a rabid, wounded animal...my anger was heightened and always near the surface. I have had to rethink, rearrange, sacrifice, start over, go back to school, change jobs, lost a job, looking for another job, forced out of our home, and currently my daughter and I (and our 3 cats & dog!) are crammed in with my mom in her 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home as I seek a suitable affordable home. Anger could consume me if I let it. But instead, I know I am on the right track and although things are difficult, my life is already so much better, despite the difficult circumstances. Having peace and recovering my confidence feels so much better...but STILL, it IS a challenge, and as I have struggled, fought with my ex, gone without sleep and found myself in circumstances I never imagined myself in, I struggle with forgiveness - of my ex, of myself (for my mistakes, my lack of patience, my frustration, my anger), of others...and this book, in all the books I have sought information, help, direction and solace over these last few years, offers REAL, and incredibly HELPFUL information, thoughts, and affirmations that ALWAYS seem to be perfectly on-point, whether I go to the current date or open randomly. As I continue to seek peace, joy and fulfillment in my life, as I parent my daughter, as I continue being human, struggling, failing, improving, growing, healing, I will continually consult and cherish this amazing little book! I am so thankful to have come across it and for Tian Dayton for creating it. I highly recommend and it will be a book I gift to friends and loved-ones in the future.
This book is the truth! In touch with the most difficult parts of living. Author does a good job of bringing clarity, whether in the midst of emotional, medical, mental, or relational turmoil. Self peace and serenity can be found in this book. Essential for emotional recovery to anybody, any age, any stage past or present.
